Linux Administration - Part-time

We are currently seeking candidates for part-time Linux Administration. We are looking for a long term relationship with a skilled server administrator.

Job Description:

Candidate must have experience and the capability of supporting Ubuntu, bash shell scripting, Apache 2, MySQL 5, PHP 5, Amanda Backup, Shorewall and Postfix.
We operate high-availablity servers (99% uptime). Candidate must be willing to be notified of (and react to) critical issues to our servers on a 24/7 basis (generally via notification from remote monitoring software).
Candidate must be willing to perform basic administration duties (create user accounts, add new virtual host records, etc) within a 4 hour window during normal business hours (9am to 5pm).
Candidate must be able to perform security updates of server software within 1 business day of release of update.
Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with Staff and Management, and to clearly and effectively document work done.
Candidate must be able to assess system load and give recommendations for upgrades, new hardware, etc.

Type of Position:
This is a Part Time position (5-15 hours/week) with on call status. Potential for larger projects as needed. This is perfect for an Upper Level CS Student, or a freelance admin looking for some additional work. This is not a position suitable for an entry level person.

Location:
You must be in Albuquerque, NM. Much of the work can be done remotely, some requires onsite (either at our offices, or at our data center downtown).

Qualifications:
Demonstrated Experience in the maintenance and administration of Ubuntu LAMP servers. Demonstrated experience in basic security/hardening of linux machines.

Special Requirements, Certifications and Licensures:
Appropriate Linux and other administrative certifications a plus.
